Chapel Porth occasionally has decent waves when the sanbanks are playing ball, but it’s pretty fickle. Works best during the lower stages of the tide.
The National Trust run carpark hosts a café and toilets, but apart from that there are no facilities until you head into the pretty village of St Agnes or over to Porthtowan. After your surf you should take the chance to walk over the cliffs to see the ruins of some old Cornish engine houses; the views are stunning. On a clear day you can sometimes see basking sharks and dolphins in the area. This beach has a strong local crew, so don’t come mob-handed and show a lot of respect to the Aggie surfers. Good little spot to check out for a walk, an ice-cream and a bit of peace and quiet, although it gets as busy as anywhere in the summer. There are no surf shops, schools, beach hire or accommodatoin facilities at Chapel Porth itself – Porthtowan is your best bet locally, and St Agnes is a popular venue for a few beers at the Tap House and a browse of the boards in the shops.

Sandsifter Bar and Restaurant by Surfer Dude
Been to these guys back in April, the place backs right onto the dunes on the beach. Its a tucked in piece of surfing heaven. Slam bang next to the surf school and the beer is cold and the food is great! They even have their little bistro bar turn into a late night venue on the weekends, I rate this place highly and so will you. Tonnes of parking and a cool, laid back vibe. Awesome

It's so nice to go to a restaurant of which you have never been before. we haven't had such tasty food out in a long time, and the vegetarian options looked fantastic- the vegetable thai curry, delicious! Great Place.
