Saltburn is a slow, but popular beachbreak, and is the centre of the surf scene in the region. There are good sandbanks around the pier and a punchy, low tide bank with short rights and long lefts to the eastern end at Penny Hole.
Saltburn is a north-facing spot with surf either side of the pier while Saltburn Point is a reefbreak to the south end of the beach under the cliffs which comes alive in big swells. This place is one of the best in the area for surfing and is popular as a result. Works best on a southerly wind with a northerly swell.

Attended the 5 day course. Great tuition by the Smart brothers, friendly and informative and well explained with good time in the water. Recommended for all beginners. Also fab Fish and Chips.
Been to these guys back in April, the place backs right onto the dunes on the beach. Its a tucked in piece of surfing heaven. Slam bang next to the surf school and the beer is cold and the food is great!
They even have their little bistro bar turn into a late night venue on the weekends, I rate this place highly and so will you. Tonnes of parking and a cool, laid back vibe.
Awesome
It's so nice to go to a restaurant of which you have never been before. we haven't had such tasty food out in a long time, and the vegetarian options looked fantastic- the vegetable thai curry, delicious! Great Place.
