Falmouth Beaches are ideal for beginners to intermediates. The main beaches are Gyllngvase and Swanpool plus south of these is Meanporth beach. Head here when strong south-westerlies and double-overhead waves are battering the north coast.
When there’s a wave here, they’ll be an instant crowd of surfers from the college, town and anyone passing! More often than not, you’ll be surfing in onshore winds but on a rare occasion, you might strike gold with clean waves. On bigger days, try Gyllyngvase Reef. All beaches are best from mid to low tide. High tide wave are mainly shore dump.
Falmouth is only 25 minutes drive to the North Coast beaches and the South Coast breaks, which makes it a good base for a surf holiday. There are also lots of options for non-surfing fun and some demon deals to be had on hotels and surf hostels, especially towards the off-season. Cornwall offers miles and miles of beaches to choose from.

Attended the 5 day course. Great tuition by the Smart brothers, friendly and informative and well explained with good time in the water. Recommended for all beginners. Also fab Fish and Chips.
Been to these guys back in April, the place backs right onto the dunes on the beach. Its a tucked in piece of surfing heaven. Slam bang next to the surf school and the beer is cold and the food is great!
They even have their little bistro bar turn into a late night venue on the weekends, I rate this place highly and so will you. Tonnes of parking and a cool, laid back vibe.
Awesome
It's so nice to go to a restaurant of which you have never been before. we haven't had such tasty food out in a long time, and the vegetarian options looked fantastic- the vegetable thai curry, delicious! Great Place.
